The overarching purpose of this research was to conduct a comprehensive impact evaluation of the BMGF Flood Response Project implemented by CARE Nigeria in response to the catastrophic floods that affected Borno State in September 2024. The evaluation was critical to determine the efficacy and reach of the emergency interventions aimed at supporting flood-affected communities, with a specific focus on assessing the outcomes of the programs in terms of food security, protection services, and the prevention and response to gender-based violence. Additionally, the evaluation aimed to gather insights that will inform future humanitarian programming and responses in similar contexts.
This study was conducted in 3 wards: Mashamari, Mala Kyareri and Simari in Jere LGA of Borno state.
